Firework displays have been an essential ingredient to major celebrations for hundreds of years, they remain as popular today as they have always been.
Such events may include National Days, religious celebrations such as the Muslim Eid al Fitr, sporting championships and major corporate events and launches.
Technological advances permit larger and ever more complex and sophisticated displays. On 31st December 1999 Merlin were on the River Thames setting up and operating part of the United Kingdom’s biggest ever display for London’s Millennium Eve.
For the Opening and Closing displays for the European Capital of Culture 2005 Merlin fired a musically synchronised show from seven Citywide locations. The shows were broadcast on live radio and television.
Merlin were delighted to work with Syd Howard Fireworks International to present a world class firework display for the people of Latvia to celebrate the 800th Anniversary of Riga, their capital city.
And Kuwaits 10th Anniversary of Liberation was celebrated with nine huge displays located in and on the outskirts of Kuwait City.
